ASPR Regional Emergency Coordinators
ASPR serves the country by carrying out its disaster and public health and medical missions through field-based teams located in all 10 HHS regions. Each region is led by a Regional Administrator (RA) who oversees a team of Regional Emergency Coordinators (RECs) that serve as ASPR’s primary representatives throughout the country. ASPR's RAs and RECs build relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial (FSLTT) officials and healthcare representatives (partners and stakeholders) to conduct planning for effective federal emergency response, and to facilitate coordinated preparedness and response activities for public health and medical emergencies.
ASPR's RAs and RECs bolster regional preparedness and response efforts by enhancing cross discipline integration among public health, health care, and emergency management partners; providing bi-directional situational awareness between headquarters and the field; responding to evolving incidents and events; providing command and control for deployed HHS resources and assets; and providing technical assistance, exercise assistance, and operational support to FSLTT partners and stakeholders.
